Cyber threats in the gambling industry

The increasing digitisation of gambling presents an attractive target for cyber criminals who wish to steal money and personal information from gaming operators. GRAF encourages information sharing and colloboration between gaming regulators to protect the public from online fraud.

Themba Marasha

Themba was previously employed at the National Gambling Board as the Chief Compliance Officer. During 2007 and 2013, Themba served as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Gambling Board in the absence of various Chief Executive Officers.

Themba's prior work experience includes his involvement in the opening of Emnotweni Casino, Secretariat of the Gambling Regulators Africa Forum ("GRAF"); his co-development of the Gambling Bill and Regulations; member of the Sibaya Casino re-testing team.

Themba's qualifications consist of a BCom with Honours, a PDip in Management Studies and an Executive Development Programme.
