Members
A Continental Regulatory Community
At the heart of GRAF is a network of African gaming regulatory authorities committed to stronger cooperation and regulatory excellence.
Membership creates opportunities for jurisdictions to participate in regulatory dialogue, exchange knowledge and experience, contribute to GRAF initiatives and collaborate with regulatory counterparts across the continent.
GRAF’s governing framework provides for different categories of membership and participation, reflecting the diverse organisations and professionals who contribute to the advancement of gaming regulation.
Membership
Jurisdictional Membership
Jurisdictional Membership is open to provincial or national regulatory bodies from African States that are involved in or responsible for the regulation of gambling within their respective jurisdictions.
Jurisdictional Members form the core membership of GRAF and participate in the governance and decision-making processes of the Forum in accordance with the GRAF governance framework.
Membership is renewable annually and is subject to the applicable membership requirements and fees.
Associate Membership
Associate Membership is open to former regulators and organisations or individuals within, or affiliated with, the gaming industry who have demonstrated an appropriate interest in or contribution to the objectives of the Forum.
Associate Members do not have voting rights or hold office but may participate in Forum activities and may be co-opted to committees, subject to the rights and privileges determined by the Board of Trustees.
Academic Membership
Academic Membership provides an opportunity for consultants, experts, academics, researchers, professionals and qualifying persons associated with institutions of higher education who have a proven track record of involvement in the gaming industry.
Academic Members may attend meetings of the membership but do not have voting rights or hold office. They may, however, be co-opted to committees of the Forum.
Delegate Membership
Delegate Membership is available to qualifying employees or appointed or elected representatives of Jurisdictional Members.
Delegate Members may attend and be heard at the Annual General Meeting and Special General Meetings, participate in regulator-only sessions and access member conference rates in accordance with the GRAF governance framework.
Honorary Membership
GRAF may confer Honorary Membership on individuals whose contribution to the Forum or to gaming regulation has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the well-being and success of GRAF.
Honorary Membership is awarded at the discretion of the Board of Trustees and may include participation in Forum meetings, events and conferences.
Invitees
GRAF may also invite organisations, States and individuals that support or have an interest in the objectives of the Forum to participate in particular meetings, events or conferences.
States considering membership may also engage with GRAF as Invitees in accordance with the Forum’s governance framework.
