Mariimuthu is former Managing Diector of GLI Africa. Currently Acting CEO of the Gauteng Gambling Board (GGB) in South Africa. He is the Senior Manager for Gaming Control at GGB.
Internet-base technology has now made it possible to offer gambling activites traditionally associated with land-based gambling establishments in a virtual space. However, this new form of gambling remains prohibited in some African countries including South Africa. Are attempts to ban interactive gambling doomed to fail?
